Country Experience: Belgium
Our experience in Belgium was limited to inspection and evaluation of a lead-zinc property near the old iron steel making centre of Liege.
The re-development of the old sulphide mines in this area seemed to be dependent, at the time, on the ultimate capacity of the German smelters nearby to take the flotation concentrates from mines in France and Belgium.
The acquisition did not proceed.
In later years I often stopped in Brussels to see friends and family.
